Nthako Zondi

Managing Director

Nthako Zondi is the founder and managing director of RegExpress. Previously, she worked in the banking and motor industries. Nthako’s academic background is into marketing, banking and entrepreneurship. She holds a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, a Banking Certificate as well as a 3-year entrepreneurial learning incubator programme from Raizcorp.

Nthako has received intense and broad practical training as well as coaching in the areas of finance, marketing and sales, personal mastery and business strategy. Nthako looks after the day-to-day strategic operations of RegExpress which includes Publisher Partnerships, Business Development, Marketing and Exhibitions, Distribution and Finance.

Nthako has successfully steered RegExpress to where it is today. She continues to cement key strategic partnerships with the aim of expanding the business portfolio globally.

Beyond business matters, Nthako enjoys listening to various genres of music, reading material in business and spiritual upliftment.

Sibu Zondi

Business Executive

Sibu has been involved with the academic and scholarly publishing industry for 20 years. His first academic publishing role was with the Johannesburg based Heinemann Educational Publishers (Now part of Pearson) as an academic representative for Higher Education and Technical Vocational Education and Training Colleges.

In 2004, Sibu joined Oxford University Press SA (OUPSA) as the academic representative and was later promoted to the regional manager role in the Higher Education department. He was based in OUPSA’s Johannesburg office, tasked with growing commercial operations and publishing activities in Southern Africa.

In 2010, he left OUPSA and joined Emerald Publishing as the Business Manager to start the local office and team in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region. In 2012, he was appointed to the role of Regional Manager for the region. His responsibilities included regional strategic implementation, consortium licensing agreements and single institutional sales, managing costs, regional team management, customer relationship management, reputation capital and working as  part of a global organization. In 2019, when Emerald SSA merged with Emerald Middle East North Africa, Sibu was appointed as the Vice President responsible for Business Development in Africa.

Sibu brings a wealth of experience to RegExpress as the business executive responsible for business operations, technical support, research training, open science, transformative agreements and sales.

Sibusiso Gwebityala

Market Research Specialist

Sibusiso Gwebityala is an accomplished investment research professional with over eight years of experience in financial markets, specializing in market intelligence, investor behaviour analysis, and data-driven strategy development. His expertise lies in delivering actionable insights to institutional clients through rigorous qualitative and quantitative research across global and local markets.
He has held senior roles at industry leaders such as S&P Global, Sanlam Investments, and Old Mutual Investment Group, where he developed client-focused research solutions, contributed to ESG investment product development, and created high-impact visual dashboards using Power BI. Sibusiso’s work has supported executive decision-making and investor relations, combining a strategic mindset with strong analytical and technical acumen.

Sibusiso holds a Master of Commerce in Finance & Investments and is pursuing the CFA designation. With a passion for understanding complex market dynamics and transforming data into strategy, he adds significant value to any research or scoping initiative.

Nonophile Dlamini

Associate Partner

Nonophile Dlamini is the benchmarking associate partner at RegExpress. She is an analyst with an engineering degree in chemical. She began her analytical career in business operations, where she focused on strategic planning and market analysis, leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.

She then joined the Water Research Commission, where she gained expertise in qualitative research, reporting, project management, and data analytics.

Building on to her foundation, she advanced into a data analyst role at Absa Group ARO Retail Business Banking, specializing in risk measurement and analytics. In this role, she honed her analytical skills and deepened her proficiency in BI tools and programming languages.

Driven by curiosity and commitment to her professional growth, she has taken on leadership roles within workplace forums and committees while earning certifications in business analytics. Currently, she serves as an M&E Associate at Students for a Better Future, a prestigious scholarship program in Cape town. In this capacity, she contributes to the continuous management of the foundation’s programs and plays a key role as a specialist in business and information systems, designing M&E data systems and business processes to enhance the organization’s business intelligence.  As a benchmarking specialist Associate, Nonophile plays a key role in conducting comprehensive benchmarking studies, analyzing industry trends and identifying best practices to drive business performance improvement for our clients. She continues to grow in her career in business analytics, striving for innovation and efficiency. She enjoys the outdoors, physical activities, and takes pride in her faith.
